What the Luffy P-159 is
It is a Japanese One Piece Card Game promo card bound into Weekly Shonen Jump issue 33 of 2026, on sale on 13 July 2026. The magazine gave it away to celebrate the 29th anniversary of One Piece's serialisation, and the card shows the “29th ANNIV” mark.
The artwork shows Luffy in an Elbaf helmet tucking into a huge piece of meat, which is why it is known in Japan as “Meat Luffy”.

Why it sold out and why it is so sought after

Shueisha printed 500,000 more copies than usual of that issue and it still sold out at bookshops and convenience stores across Japan. Many people bought the magazine just for the card, to resell it.
On 17 July Shueisha apologised, released a made-to-order edition of the magazine without the card and announced it was pausing free cards in Weekly Shonen Jump, V Jump and Saikyo Jump. It even cancelled a Charlotte Pudding promo planned for the October V Jump.
Why stock it in your shop

- Playable and collectible. It appeals to red deck players and to promo collectors.
- It has a story. “The card that made Shueisha stop giving away promos” sells itself at the counter.
- One Piece anniversary. Anniversary cards always draw fans.
- Unopened. Kept in its original magazine sleeve, it holds its value better.
