Why Inferno X sells well in store

  • The Mega Charizard X ex SAR is the set's big draw: the card your customers ask about before they buy.

The cards that sell Inferno X

Which hit each customer is after, and how to use it to move the box.

  1. Mega Charizard X ex SAR (110/080) from Inferno X M2, illustrated by danciao

    Top 1

Mega Charizard X ex SAR: the box headliner

    SAR · 110/080Illustration: danciao

Charizard is the most sought-after Pokémon in the card game, and its Mega X form, black with blue flames, is one of the most recognisable. danciao’s SAR is the card most customers buy Inferno X for, and the question you will hear most at the counter.

Shop tip: promote the box with this card in the window and on social media. With Charizard, nothing else needs explaining.

  2. Oricorio ex SAR (111/080) from Inferno X M2, illustrated by Shinji Kanda

    Top 2

Oricorio ex SAR: the set’s other big card

    SAR · 111/080Illustration: Shinji Kanda

After Charizard, Shinji Kanda’s Oricorio ex SAR is one of the most sought-after cards in Inferno X. It is a colourful, lively illustration that appeals both to collectors and to customers who buy pretty cards, and it gives the box a second reason to buy that does not depend on Charizard.

Shop tip: show it alongside Mega Charizard X ex in your openings and on social media; together they sum up why the box is worth opening.

  3. Mega Charizard X ex MUR (116/080) from Inferno X M2, illustrated by takuyoa

    Top 3

Mega Charizard X ex MUR: the box-opening hook

    MUR · 116/080Illustration: takuyoa

The only MUR in the set is the gold Mega Charizard X ex. A gold Charizard turns any live opening, giveaway or in-store event into something people want to watch until the last pack.

If you run openings online or in store, this is the card that builds excitement and brings in new customers.

  4. Dawn SAR (115/080) from Inferno X M2, illustrated by Atsushi FurusawaDawn SR (106/080) from Inferno X M2, illustrated by Yuu Nishida

    Top 4

Dawn SAR and SR: for Trainer collectors

    SAR · 115/080DawnIllustration: Atsushi FurusawaSR · 106/080DawnIllustration: Yuu Nishida

Dawn, the heroine of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, is another of the most sought-after cards in the set. Trainer SARs have their own audience who buy regardless of Charizard, so the box has two reasons to buy instead of one.

Dawn’s SR is a second version of the same Trainer: useful for customers who do not want to wait for the SAR.

  5. Piplup AR (085/080) from Inferno X M2, illustrated by Jiro SasumoEmpoleon ex SR (099/080) from Inferno X M2, illustrated by 5ban Graphics

    Top 5

Piplup AR and Empoleon ex SR: the Sinnoh nod

    AR · 085/080PiplupIllustration: Jiro SasumoSR · 099/080Empoleon exIllustration: 5ban Graphics

Piplup is Dawn’s starter and Empoleon its final evolution, so together with her they form a small Sinnoh trio within the set. Kids and families love Piplup, and as an AR it turns up more often than the SARs.

If you sell single packs, it is your best argument: an achievable target that keeps customers coming back for "one more pack".

  6. Mega Lopunny ex SAR (114/080) from Inferno X M2, illustrated by Kinu NishimuraMega Sharpedo ex SAR (113/080) from Inferno X M2, illustrated by nagimiso

Two more Mega Evolutions as SARs, by Kinu Nishimura and nagimiso. Customers who collect every Mega of the MEGA era never skip a set, so it is a good moment to offer them Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia (M1), Nihil Zero (M3) and Mega Dream ex, which has another Mega Charizard X ex.

Inferno X (M2) fact sheet for your shop

Inferno X is the M2 expansion of Pokémon TCG MEGA, released in Japan on 26 September 2025. Each booster box holds 30 packs of 5 cards, with an 80-card set and 36 secret rares (081 to 116).

For your customers the set has three clear hooks: Mega Charizard X ex as a SAR, an SR and a gold MUR, the Trainer Dawn with her own SAR, and new Mega Evolutions such as Mega Lopunny, Mega Sharpedo and Mega Heracross. If customers ask about Phantasmal Flames, it is the English-language set based on Inferno X, but with different numbering and contents: this page covers the Japanese edition.

Inferno X FAQ

Where can I buy Inferno X booster boxes wholesale?

Don Bananza is a Pokémon card distributor for shops and verified trade customers: we supply the Inferno X Japanese booster box with wholesale pricing for approved customers and shipping from Spain across Europe.

Which card sells the Inferno X box?

The Mega Charizard X ex SAR (110/080) is the big draw, and the gold Mega Charizard X ex MUR (116/080), the only MUR in the set, is the one that builds excitement at openings. The Oricorio ex (111/080) and Dawn (115/080) SARs follow.

Should I sell Inferno X as sealed boxes or single packs?

Both work. Collectors chasing the Charizard SAR or MUR buy the sealed box; single packs suit customers trying their luck for Charizard or completing the Sinnoh trio with Piplup, an AR that turns up more often.

What is in the Inferno X Japanese booster box?

30 packs of 5 cards (150 cards in total). The set has 80 cards and 36 secret rares: 6 SAR, 1 MUR, 12 AR and 17 SR.

Is Inferno X the same as Phantasmal Flames?

Not exactly. Phantasmal Flames is the English-language set based on Inferno X (M2), but its numbering and contents are different. Inferno X is the Japanese edition, released in Japan on 26 September 2025.
