The cards that sell Battle Partners

Which hit each customer is after, and how to use it to move the box.

  1. N's Zoroark ex SAR (127/100) from Battle Partners SV9, illustrated by Megumi Mizutani

    Top 1

N's Zoroark ex SAR: the box headliner

    SAR · 127/100Illustration: Megumi Mizutani

N has been one of the best-loved characters in the series since Pokémon Black and White, and Zoroark is his most recognisable partner. Megumi Mizutani’s SAR is the card most customers buy Battle Partners for, and the name you will hear most at the counter.

Shop tip: promote the box with this card in the window and on social media. It is the image that defines the set.

  2. N's Zoroark ex UR (131/100) from Battle Partners SV9, illustrated by takuyoa

    Top 2

N's Zoroark ex UR: the gold card for openings

    UR · 131/100Illustration: takuyoa

takuyoa’s gold N’s Zoroark ex is the second card of the same Pokémon that can turn up in the box. A gold UR of the main hit turns any live opening or in-store event into something people want to watch until the last pack.

If you run openings online or in store, this is the card that builds excitement: two chances at Zoroark in the same box.

  3. Lillie's Clefairy ex SAR (126/100) from Battle Partners SV9, illustrated by Susumu Maeya

    Top 3

Lillie's Clefairy ex SAR: for Lillie collectors

    SAR · 126/100Illustration: Susumu Maeya

Lillie, from Pokémon Sun and Moon, has a loyal following who buy any card she appears on. Susumu Maeya’s SAR with Clefairy is a gentle illustration that appeals to character collectors and to customers who buy pretty cards, giving the box a second reason to buy that does not depend on Zoroark.

Shop tip: show it alongside N’s card in your openings; together they sum up why the box is worth opening.

  4. Iono's Bellibolt ex SAR (125/100) from Battle Partners SV9, illustrated by Yuu NishidaIono's Bellibolt ex UR (130/100) from Battle Partners SV9, illustrated by 5ban Graphics

Iono's Bellibolt ex SAR and UR: Paldea’s streamer

SAR · 125/100Iono's Bellibolt exIllustration: Yuu NishidaUR · 130/100Iono's Bellibolt exIllustration: 5ban Graphics

Iono, the streamer Gym Leader from Scarlet and Violet, is one of the most popular Trainers of the era. Her Bellibolt ex comes as a SAR by Yuu Nishida and as a gold UR, so it is another full line that Iono collectors want.

It works especially well with younger customers, who know Iono from the recent games.

  5. Hop's Zacian ex SAR (128/100) from Battle Partners SV9, illustrated by DOM

    Top 5

Hop's Zacian ex SAR: Galar’s legendary

    SAR · 128/100Illustration: DOM

Hop, the rival from Pokémon Sword and Shield, appears with Zacian, the cover legendary of Sword. DOM’s SAR appeals to customers who play or played through Galar and to legendary collectors, a different profile from N and Lillie fans.

  6. N's Zorua AR (108/100) from Battle Partners SV9, illustrated by Megumi MizutaniN's Reshiram AR (109/100) from Battle Partners SV9, illustrated by Bun ToujoLillie's Ribombee AR (105/100) from Battle Partners SV9, illustrated by saino misaki

N's Zorua, N's Reshiram and Lillie's Ribombee AR: what drives single packs

AR · 108/100N's ZoruaIllustration: Megumi MizutaniAR · 109/100N's ReshiramIllustration: Bun ToujoAR · 105/100Lillie's RibombeeIllustration: saino misaki

ARs turn up far more often than SARs, and in Battle Partners several follow the same Trainers: N’s Zorua is by Megumi Mizutani, the illustrator of the Zoroark SAR, and N’s Reshiram completes N’s team.

If you sell single packs, they are your best argument: an achievable target that keeps customers coming back for "one more pack".

Battle Partners (SV9) fact sheet for your shop

Battle Partners is the SV9 expansion of the Scarlet & Violet era, released in Japan on 24 January 2025. Each booster box holds 30 packs of 5 cards, with a 100-card set and 32 secret rares (101 to 132): 6 SAR, 3 UR, 11 SR and 12 AR.

The set brings back Trainer's Pokémon: cards such as N's Zoroark ex or Lillie's Clefairy ex pair a Pokémon with its Trainer, which appeals both to fans of a Pokémon and to fans of a character. Heat Wave Arena follows the same idea with Cynthia and Ethan, as does Glory of Team Rocket with Team Rocket's Pokémon. N fans will find another N's Zoroark ex SAR in Mega Dream ex, and Lillie collectors meet her again in Mega Brave. If customers ask about Journey Together, it is the English-language set based on Battle Partners, but with different numbering and contents: this page covers the Japanese edition.

Battle Partners FAQ

Where can I buy Battle Partners booster boxes wholesale?

Don Bananza is a Pokémon card distributor for shops and verified trade customers: we supply the Battle Partners Japanese booster box with wholesale pricing for approved customers and shipping from Spain across Europe, subject to availability.

Which card sells the Battle Partners box?

The N's Zoroark ex SAR (127/100) is the big draw, and the gold N's Zoroark ex UR (131/100) is the one that builds excitement at openings. The Lillie's Clefairy ex SAR (126/100) follows, then the Iono's Bellibolt ex (125/100) and Hop's Zacian ex (128/100) SARs.

Should I sell Battle Partners as sealed boxes or single packs?

Both work. Collectors chasing the Zoroark SAR or UR, or the Lillie SAR, buy the sealed box; single packs suit customers who follow a particular Trainer and are happy with an AR such as N's Zorua or Lillie's Ribombee, which turn up more often.

What is in the Battle Partners Japanese booster box?

30 packs of 5 cards (150 cards in total). The set has 100 cards and 32 secret rares: 6 SAR, 3 UR, 12 AR and 11 SR.

Is Battle Partners the same as Journey Together?

Not exactly. Journey Together is the English-language set based on Battle Partners (SV9), but its numbering and contents are different. Battle Partners is the Japanese edition, released in Japan on 24 January 2025.
