Why Awakening of the New Era sells well in store

  • Monkey.D.Luffy (Gear 5) is the set's big draw: the card your customers ask about before they buy.
  • Each SEC comes in several versions (parallels, manga…): more versions, more reasons to open another box.
  • 24 packs per box: it sells just as well as a sealed box, as single packs or in live openings.
  • Japanese edition: a favourite with many collectors for its print quality and price per pack.

  1. Monkey.D.Luffy SEC OP05-119 (Manga (super parallel)), One Piece Card Game Awakening of the New Era (OP-05) card

    Top 1

Monkey.D.Luffy (Gear 5) manga SEC: the icon of the set

    SEC · OP05-119Manga (super parallel)

The manga version of Luffy's Gear 5 SEC, with black-and-white manga panels, is the card that defines OP-05. It is the most celebrated moment in recent One Piece history turned into a card, and collectors know it.

Tip for your shop: it is the card to promote the box with. If you stream live openings, present it as the big target; Gear 5 also draws anime fans who do not play.

  2. Monkey.D.Luffy SR ST01-012 (Oda signature), One Piece Card Game Awakening of the New Era (OP-05) card

    Top 2

Monkey.D.Luffy SR with Eiichiro Oda's signature

    SR · ST01-012Oda signature

OP-05 includes a parallel version of Luffy's SR with the signature of Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, printed on the card. It is extremely rare and collectors want it as much as the Gear 5 manga itself.

Watch out when you show it: the same artwork also exists without the signature and is much easier to find. The one collectors are after is the signed version.

Tip for your shop: it is the best story the box has to tell. Explaining that it may hold a card bearing the creator's signature catches the interest even of people who do not know the game.

  3. Trafalgar Law SR OP05-069 (Manga (super parallel)), One Piece Card Game Awakening of the New Era (OP-05) card

    Top 3

Trafalgar Law manga SR: for Law fans

    SR · OP05-069Manga (super parallel)

The Law manga SR completes the top three in OP-05. Law is one of the most popular characters in the series and has buyers of his own who open the box with only him in mind.

Tip for your shop: Law fans buy single packs hoping for this manga, so keep them to hand next to the sealed box.

  4. Eustass"Captain"Kid SR OP05-074 (Manga (super parallel)), One Piece Card Game Awakening of the New Era (OP-05) card

    Top 4

Eustass"Captain"Kid manga SR: the rival of the new generation

    SR · OP05-074Manga (super parallel)

Kid also has a manga SR in OP-05. With Luffy and Law he makes up the trio of Worst Generation captains with a manga SR or SEC in the set, and collectors who want all three keep opening packs.

Awakening of the New Era FAQ

Where can I buy OP-05 Awakening of the New Era booster boxes wholesale?

Don Bananza is a One Piece card distributor for shops and verified trade customers: we supply the OP-05 Awakening of the New Era Japanese booster box at wholesale prices for approved customers, shipping from Spain across Europe, subject to availability.

Which card sells the OP-05 Awakening of the New Era box?

The Monkey.D.Luffy Gear 5 manga SEC (OP05-119) is the icon of the set, followed very closely by the Luffy SR with Eiichiro Oda's signature (ST01-012) and the Trafalgar Law manga SR (OP05-069). Behind them come the Kid manga SR, the Nami SP and the Luffy "GEAR 5" alternate art.

Is it true that OP-05 has a card with Oda's signature?

Yes. OP-05 includes a version of Luffy's SR with the signature of Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, printed on the card. It is extremely rare and highly prized by collectors. The same artwork also exists without the signature, so it is worth telling them apart clearly when you show them.

Should I sell OP-05 by the box or as single packs?

Both work. Sealed boxes appeal to collectors going for the Gear 5 manga or the Oda signature, or who want to keep them sealed; single packs suit Luffy, Law or Kid fans happy with a manga SR or the alternate art. With two big targets, live openings have plenty to offer.

When was OP-05 Awakening of the New Era released?

OP-05 Awakening of the New Era (新時代の主役) was released in Japan on 26 August 2023. Each booster box contains 24 packs of 6 cards (144 cards in total).
